About Aronoff Center for the Arts
In downtown Cincinnati, everyone knows about the two major centers for spectacle, Paul Brown Stadium and the Great American Ball Park, but north of them is a different sort of arena. A few blocks north of the Ohio River is the Aronoff Center, a performing arts center where the finest in broadway, concert and stand-up comedy make their home. Aronoff Center parking spaces are often hard to find unless they are booked in advance, as popular events can fill up any commercial parking lots nearby. The proximity of the Aronoff Center to the stadiums can also negatively impact the commute. After a day in the hot sun watching the Bengals or the Reds play, relaxing with a nice show is often just what the doctor ordered.
The Aronoff Center was built in 1995 for the Cincinnati Arts Association. The building was designed by famed architect César Pelli, who was the architect for the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia. While most theatres offer only one huge auditorium that can’t scale for smaller events, the Aronoff has three theatres in different sizes. The largest is the Procter & Gamble Hall, a three-level auditorium with a burnt orange motif and a capacity of 2,719. This theater not only has modern lighting and a high quality sound system, but the ceiling has 3,000 fiber optic lenses scattered across it, giving off an effect similar to twinkling stars in the dark sky of an Ohio night.
The second theater is the Jarson-Kaplan Theater, a mid-sized auditorium with seating for 437. With a design similar to the Procter & Gamble Hall, it is more suited towards company meetings, smaller performances or other mid-sized events. The smallest theater is the Fifth Third Bank Theater, a space that functions as a theater with a capacity or 150, or alternatively can be reconfigured for other events, such as dances, where the capacity increases to 180. This theater is best for small parties or corporate events.
In addition, there is also a rehearsal hall, a large lobby with a capacity of 1000, an art gallery and more. Depending on the concert (or if the Bengals or the Reds are playing), it can get tricky finding Aronoff Center parking, so booking Aronoff parking spaces with ParkWhiz is the best way to get to the show.
ParkWhiz makes it easy to find Aronoff Center parking; select the show that you need Aronoff Center Cincinnati parking for, print out your Aronoff Center parking pass (or use your mobile pass) and enjoy Cincinnati!
