More about State Farm Arena

It’s all a matter of perspective when evaluating the Atlanta Hawks. On one hand, the fans who head downtown for Philips Arena parking to see the Hawks have been treated to a playoff team for the last six seasons. Curmudgeons are frustrated with Atlanta’s progress, as their team hasn’t made it past the second round of the series in each of those six seasons.

It’s an odd trend going down in Atlanta these days. The world of sports is so up and down: It’s not unusual at all to see teams lifting a championship trophy only to sit in the league’s basement three years later; or, a team muddled at the bottom of division skyrocket with a deep playoff run. The Hawks, on the other hand can’t seem to put that long playoff run together, but also don’t seem to be fading out of contention anytime soon.

Fans of other team bases will tell you they’re jealous of Hawks fans who’ve had the chance to buy Hawks parking and playoff tickets every season since 2007. Other franchises laugh at the Hawks’ arrested development; as a team has never seemed so close, yet so far from a title than the Hawks.

Despite such consistency, the Hawks have exhibited the typically low threshold for patience. Despite three postseason berths, the Hawks canned head coach Mike Woodson and put Larry Drew in charge. In 2010 Atlanta re-signed its star Joe Johnson to a $119 million extension, making him the league’s best-paid player, only to trade him to Brooklyn two years later. Forward Josh Smith was the man after Johnson’s departure, but the Hawks let him walk for Detroit. And this season Atlanta has its third coach in five years after firing Drew.

So what will it be for the Hawks this season? Philips Arena parking waits to provide accommodations for fans interested to see whether its team finally takes that next step, regresses into the lottery or remains on par. ParkWhiz is there to help. We’ve got Atlanta Hawks parking surrounding Philips Arena to take the stress out of parking and into the Hawks.
